Home Auto Repair

By Ken Marlborough

Doing auto repairs at home is one of the best ways to keep a car in tiptop shape. Home auto repair is cost-efficient, too, because you can save on professional fees. All it takes to fix your car is a substantial amount of know-how plus a collection of quality tools.

For most people, doing things themselves has its own rewards. The most obvious benefit is that they get to save their hard-earned dollars. When it comes to auto repair, the same mindset applies. It is not surprising why there are many people who still prefer to fix their car in the comfort of their own homes instead of bringing their vehicle in for commercial auto repairs.

Home auto repairs allow car owners the chance to work closely with their own vehicles. They get to tinker around with their cars to identify if it needs tuning up or if a certain part needs replacing. Home auto repairs leave the responsibility in the hands of the car owner. Owners would not have to worry about mechanics mishandling their vehicles or charging them huge fees for simple auto repairs.

If you are planning on repairing your vehicle in the comfort of your own home, do thorough research first. The World Wide Web holds a lot of information regarding auto repair as well as do-it-yourself vehicle maintenance. You will also find a lot of car tips and trivia online.

It would also be wise to amass a collection of commonly used car tools and equipment. Wrenches, screws, jacks and bolts are among the tools you need to get together. You can buy ready car tool kits on the Internet. Do some comparison shopping. Look around for the best deals. Once you have narrowed down your choices to the tools that provide you with the most value for your money, it is easy to have them delivered right to your doorstep.

Water For Gas - Is it a Scam?

By Gregory Shyne

So I came across a site a little while back that claimed that you can "Double Your Gas Mileage" by using "Water for Gas". At first, I completely blew it off... I mean, come on! Water for gas? You can't be serious... if this could actually be done, then it would be all over the news... right? Well...

I decided to do a little research anyway... I figured it couldn't hurt... so I searched for a few product reviews... researched several websites... and I was actually shocked! There were several reviews from people who were actually converting the cars to run on water! The thing that shocked me the most what that they were doing it themselves!

Most had no real mechanical experience at all! (so they claimed) Well... I have a 2002 Ford Escape that was getting roughly about 15-19 miles to the gallon at the time (highway mileage). This was very frustrating... Especially since gas is about $4 a gallon now... and rising. I need to find someway to either get better gas mileage... make more money! (both would be nice...)

So after about a week or so of contemplating, I decided to actually give it a shot... I figured that the rewards of this actually working far outweighed the expenses of it being a scam... So I read and reread the website... and read it again!

Just to make sure that I fully understood every single detail and "promise" that this site claimed their system would do for me. Finally, I ordered the e-book... but I didn't read it right away... I actually went back and read the sales page again! (a little "obsessive compulsive" huh?)

Then I decided to dig in... the book as very well put together. The instructions were very simple and easy to follow. (a little too easy actually) but anyway, I read the entire e-book front to back... and then guess that I did? I read it again! (I know... I know...)

(Moving forward...) Three days later... after reading the book enough times that I probably could have rewritten it myself verbatim, I decided to actually give it a try. It took me a few hours to complete everything...

because of course, if I'm going to read the manual almost million times, I'm certainly going to take my time actually using it! I mean, hey, I have to make sure that it's done "right"! Right? So bare with me here...

After about a week, I realized that I only had to fill my gas tank once! Are you serious? Only one time for an entire week? I drive out of town everyday to go to work... One tank of gas is unheard of for me! I figured that this had to be a fluke or something...

So the next week came... and the exact same thing happened! I could not believe it! The ridiculously simple instructions in this e-book actually worked... but I was actually mad... very mad... if I could have been using water for gas all this time, why didn't anyone every tell me!

Do you have any idea how much money I've spent just in the last year on gas alone? More importantly, do you know how many Jack in the Box tacos buying gas has cost me? I feel so ripped off...

Best Wishes,

Greg

Auto Clubs - Never Worry About A Dead Battery Again

By Amy Nutt

An auto club is a great organization to be involved in for a number of reasons. First of all, members pay dues to the club and the club offers a variety of benefits to its members in return. This can be anything from mapping out the best routes for a road trip to roadside assistance. There are even auto clubs that are dedicated to specific types of vehicles. Some consist of owners of antique cars, sports cars, pickup trucks, or cars by a particular manufacturer. Other auto clubs will service any automobile owner who wishes to pay dues as a member.

There are many things that auto clubs offer their members. Some may find that when their children become of age to learn to drive, the auto club will give them the opportunity to take driving lessons. For mom and dad, there are such services as breakdown service and even legal advice. It is definitely a handy thing to have because you never know when you will need it.

One of the most common issues, aside from locking the keys in the car, is the issue of the dead battery. This occurs because individuals may forget to turn off interior lights or headlights and the battery will run down. Other times it is because it is simply time for the battery to go or there is another underlying issue that has caused the battery to die.

Battery assist

When the battery in your car dies, it can be a rather surreal experience because you may be in a place that you are not familiar with and you may be out of reach of someone who can come and pick you up. It is rather dangerous to ask strangers if they have jumper cables. Sometimes you can walk into a business and ask them if any of their employees can give you a hand, but there are many times the employees may not have jumper cables or you may not even be in the vicinity of a business. This is where the wireless phone comes in.

Since most everyone carries a wireless phone nowadays, it is easy to call your auto club and get some help. In all reality, if the battery dies you have nothing to worry about, so there is no need to panic. There's also no need to ask strangers for assistance when a phone call can solve your issue.

When the roadside assistance service arrives, they can give your battery and get you going again. Many times this is all it will take, but it is wise to go straight to the first auto parts store you see or a department store that sells car batteries so that you can have your battery tested and replaced if it must be. Sometimes a dead battery is just a fluke and it will charge right back up. However, it is always good to get it checked and the battery assistance that is provided by your auto club can get you on your way to running like normal in no time.

Peace of mind

Besides, the auto club has the best interest of its members in mind. If it didn't it couldn't really be classified as an auto club aside from the fact it is made up of a bunch of people who own automobiles. Auto clubs are much more than that, so if you are stalled, they will make sure they get you up and running so that you have nothing to worry about. That makes an auto club something that every automobile owner should be a part of.

Enjoy a relaxing time when driving by enrolling to auto club and benefit from more that 180 advantages such as emergency road and roadside assistance.

How To Run My Car On Water - 5 Facts On Water For Gas DIY Hydrogen Generator System

By Robert Kamau

If you are still stuck with high cost of gas at the pump, you need to look at this water 4 gas Do It Yourself engine system. This is basically a system that uses hydrogen and oxygen from water to increase your engine MPG, increase efficiency, reduce yearly cost of fuel, lower harmful gas emissions, reduce carbon deposits on your engine, reduce noise level from your engine and increase your car's lifespan.

Increasing your car's Miles per Gallon of Gas (MPG): Fact # 1

DIY water for gas system uses the hidden enormous energy in water by releasing Hydrogen and Oxygen gases using a simple water jar through which a DC current from your ignition flows. The simple device that you can assemble in your car garage with an illustrated manual only produces hydrogen gas when you switch on your car.

This hydrogen on demand ensures that you don't store any flammable hydrogen under your car hood. It called the principal of hydrogen on demand, and it's the safest way to handle hydrogen so far.

The hydrogen and Oxygen mixture expands more than 18,000 times more than the ordinary gasoline vapor. This means the gases will be occupying more space in your car engine combustion chamber at any one time. The result is that far less volume of gasoline is burnt. Hydrogen and oxygen releases more than 20 times more energy than gasoline.

Due to the less amount of gasoline being combusted inside the engine, this translates to using less gas for the same mileage. A full tank will easily give you double the mileage you are used to in your car. Road tests have achieved 50% increase in mpg on a heavy 350 V8 van, 56% on a Ford truck, 107% on my Toyota Corolla, 285% on a Chevy 4WD pickup.

Reducing harmful car emissions: Fact # 2

The simple system will eventually reduce harmful emissions from your car's engine which means less contamination for you and your family. Combustion of H and O gases produces only water as the gases are recombined to a more stable state. Since the gases form the bulk of the combustion material in the engine, the result is that less carbon deposits and CO2 is produced as exhaust gases.

This will contribute immensely to a greener environment. If this technology would be taken up by more and more people, you can see the effect in reducing CO2 gas in the atmosphere and hence global warming.

Increasing your car's Lifespan: Fact # 3

By supplementing gasoline with water gas (browns gas), less carbon deposits will be produced in your car's combustion chamber. Carbon produced inside an engines car not only reduces its efficiency in complete combustion of gasoline but also accumulates to accelerate your engine's and car's wear and tear.

With the brown's gas supplementing gasoline, less and less amounts of carbon will be deposited in your engine. Over a period of two to three years, your car's engine will still be as good as new.

Reduces your weekly gas costs: Fact # 4

One of the most significant advantages of using browns gases from water to run your car is that you will greatly make savings on the cost of gas. The fact that you are burning less gas for the same mileage you used to cover before installing the system means you will use less money at the gas pump.

People that have installed this simple device under their car's hoods have recorded savings of up to $ 200-$400 every week. This means making savings on gas costs in the tune of over $10,000 in a single year. Imagine how much such savings would help you improve on your credit rating and be able to change your cars within the first year. This is like music to most people's ears when in addition they get to reduce emissions, lengthen their car lifespan and save on engine repair costs.

Reduce Your Engine's Temperature, Smoother and Calmer Engine and Gear Shifts: Fact # 5

The use of hydrogen and oxygen from water in your car's engine will automatically lead to a smoother and calmer engine. These gases burnt efficiently reducing the engine vibrations and knock effect produced by the inefficient combustion of gasoline. Your gears will even shift more easily.

This in fact will greatly reduce the wear and tear of your car due to fewer vibrations to the mainframe. Lowering your engine's temperature also has a similar effect in that it prevents your engine from wearing out fast.

This simple do it yourself device will also turn you into an instant guru and your neighbors will knock over themselves trying to get your secret water jar system installed in their own cars. Some people have even made this a business opportunity charging a small fee to install or simply instruct others on how to reduce their gas costs especially now when it's going to 4 dollars a litre.

The good part is that you will instantly download a fully illustrated manual on how to install the system. The manual is so detailed and gives a step by step guide of how to install the water gas converter device, that even a cave girl could do it.

The manual is available a digital file that you can download online in 3 minutes flat and print it out for easier use. You will wish you got this information three years ago if you start seeing the insane savings on fuel from today.

Find the Free Auto Repair Manual You Need Online

By Terje Ellingsen

You can easily get a free auto repair manual for whichever repair need you might have. You need an internet access and have to follow a certain procedure searching for auto repair manuals, but when you have done this procedure a few times it will be very easy to find the right instructions for do it yourself auto repair and it won't cost you a dime.

There are four types of automotive description documents that you will need to choose from when you want to do a repair;

General manuals
Diagnosis descriptions
Repair manuals
Maintenance manuals
General Manuals

In addition to some general manuals, most of these are related to the make. Here you can get step by step guidance on how to repair most of the makes in the vehicle market. Let's say you have a Honda Acura 2002 model and you want to find a manual for that make and model. What you do is perform the following search in a search engine: "free car manuals+Honda Acura+2002". Then you will have a long list of sites that provide you with all kinds of descriptions for your Honda Acure 2002 model, and you can choose what you want.

Diagnosis descriptions

Automotive diagnosis manuals can also be sub-divided by make and model. But it can also be divided by the area of the vehicle that is affected, for example engine intake problems, brake problems, cooling problems, exhaust problems, start or stall problems, transmission problems etc. Let's say you have a start problem. Your search would be "car diagnosis manual+ start problem", then you should get more than enough repair information to choose from. You can even get diagnostic trees where all options are covered for nothing.

You have probably more than one time heard some annoying noise from somewhere in your vehicle, without finding the source of it. This is one of the most kinky situations to run into because you don't know if it is a serious signal or just a small thing. Some websites gives you the opportunity to diagnose vehicle problems by the noise, sound and vibrating signals - and that is great. The sooner you find it the sooner you can fix it and then you can relax. When you search, you can describe the sound, for example "whine noise" or "shifter knocks" or "driveline vibration" plus car diagnosis manual plus eventually the make.

Repair Manuals

In addition to regular manuals you can also get very instructive and detailed descriptions in other internet document or websites like articles, etc. The natural way to sub-divide such repairs before searching, is by the area of the vehicle that is going to be repaired, for instance body repair, exhaust repair, suspension fix, interior repair and even general car repair.

You do the search the same way as above; "car repair manual (or description) + the area of repair and go through the list of resources you get.

Maintenance manuals

Though vehicle maintenance is closely related to your vehicle make and model, there are some maintenance issues that are pretty much common whether you have a Cadillac, VW or a Mercedes, for example changing oil, changing air filters, engine wash, fluid maintenance, tier maintenance etc. You can get access to maintenance descriptions by searching for the kind of maintenance plus "car maintenance manual (or description)" plus eventually your make and model.

I think you'll be amazed of the amount of automotive repair free stuff online.

Terje Brooks Ellingsen is a writer and internet publisher. He runs the website cheap-used-cars.w-eland.com. Terje gives advice and helps people with automotive issues like auto repair and online car auctions.
